In MacOS, both internal and external x cannot be used, and the following is returned:

"nvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyInvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyInvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
(virt-manager:26657): Gtk-WARNING **: 19:43:49.023: cannot open display: localhost:16.0"

The MacOS version does not integrate X Server, only the Windows versions has it. I will hide the Internal X display option in the WindTerm_2.4.0_Prerelease_3 version.

You need install XQuartz yourself, and set the correct External X display in the Session Settings dialog. It should be fine. if you have any questions, please let me know, thank you.

The x11 on the apple chip still doesn't work, even though it's external, XQuartz doesn't seem to listen to any ports, can you tell me the correct way to set it up?

In my case, I had to run the command xhost +local: on my local command line first. Then, enabling External X display in the session settings will work (we can probably leave the inbox next to the External X display as blank, i.e., using the default localhost:0.0).

Here is the answer that helped me out, https://askubuntu.com/questions/984359/x11-invalid-mit-magic-cookie-1-key
