You must use the old Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 32-bit compiler. Check WinWorld site: https://winworldpc.com/product/visual-c/6x
You also need DirectX SDK 8.1. You can get it here: https://archive.org/details/dx81sdk_full
Build is done from command-line. Start cmd.exe, then switch to "src" directory, then:
setenv.cmd
nmake release
