Setting colors on app initial start

On app initial start (e.g newly installed or upon data cleared) the colors i set as "defaultValue" are not applied till I go to the settings page where color is set. How can I make the colors stick on a fresh install?

I did some more digging, and the issue is not related to your library, but my preference not being set on create. Great library by the way!!!
