Formatting issues in a label when referencing a variable

Description

When referencing a variable in a label the formatting gets distorted. For better understanding please see the image as shared below:

The same issue is seen while viewing in KoBoCollect android app as well as ODKCollect android app. Please see the image (from the KoBoCollect android app) as shared below:

This however does not seem to be an issue when validating ODK Online Validator. Please see the image as shared below:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Upload & Deploy this xlsform.
   jr choice name.xlsx
2. Collect data through Enketo and you should see the issue as outlined in image shared above.
3. Collect data through KoBoCollect android app and you should see the issue as outlined in image shared above.
4. Validate it with the ODK Online Validator and you should not see the issue there.

Expected behavior

There should not be a formatting issue.

Actual behavior

There is a formatting issue.

Update: When you start the label with something else rather then the referenced variable it seems not to be an issue.
