Debian 6 has bitbake in apt-get, but it does not exist in debian 7.4 and either will be installed by clone commands.

Yes, you are absolutely correct, bitbake is available as an installable via apt-get in Debian 6 but not in Debian 7.
Bitbake does not need to be installed in order to build or use meta-kolibre as it is part of the build instructions in the setup-script repository.
Do you still think this is an issue? If yes, then how do you think we could resolve it?
