Is there a way to copy the original firmware text/font settings to Koreader?

Hi all,

I have just installed koreader on my Kobo Clara HD. I was wondering if there was any way to copy the text/font settings for reading I had in my base firmware into koreader? I have tried through trial and error to imitate the same text style/look but so far have struggled to make it look the same way. I am most definitely being picky but if I can get it to look the same it would be awesome.

Is there a config file for the font I can change or some files that would give me the exact spacing, size, boldness etc that I am using in my default software that can then be imitated in koreader?

No, there is no such tool.
Different fonts, different rendering engines, different ways of rendering individual characters.
May be post screenshots/pictures of what you get and love with the original Kobo software, and what you manage to get the most-similar-but-not-enough with KOReader, and may be we can figure out what's missing and what KOReader's setting you missed?
(There's been some pictures in #8063 (comment), that I liked - the font was Georgia, so one needs to find and install a Georgia font on KOReader to at least get a good start - then, force text left alignment, disable hyphenation, increase line spacing, tune contrast, weight, hinting...)

They are both set to use the same font called bitter. Ill have a mess around with it some more to see if I can get it to be more similar still, thanks :)

Oh, Bitter is my preferred font, and indeed, your 2nd screenshot looks like what I get with it in KOReader:

So, I'd say Kobo is lying if making you believe it uses your Bitter :) and forces its own Georgia?
(Unless I really suck at distinguishing fonts :) but the k can't be from the same font.)

@poire-z Where'd you get your Georgia? As you say, the k looks weird compared to the one from Microsoft.

This is what I get with some Georgia I copied from Windows 10 c:\windows\fonts\georgia*ttf,

Get the same k as you do it seems to me, in my first screenshot of that bit of text.
