KOReader version: 2015.11-1405 and many other versions
Device: Redmi Note 3, MIUI 9
Can not open any file stored on external SD card. The same file stored on the internal card can be opened correctly. This happens with the latest released version as well as on the nightlies too.
Store a PDF, ePUB or djvu file on the external card. Locate it using the KOReader file browser, open it, KOReader crashes. Store the same file on the internal SD card, KOReader can open it successfully. Have given KOReader permission to access the storage.
No crash.log file is generated.

That's what I thought; even "force external storage availability" in developper options doesn't fix it.
Wouldn't it be a possibility to have some sort of "read-only" mode to open such external files, even without having bookmarks and so on ?
PRs welcome. :-) A true read-only mode would be a lot of work; a minimal effort read-only mode might be as simple as playing around a little with DocSettings.
