Hi

Since 16.5.5 I got this issue. From around 10 minutes watching, it just stops for a while, the jump back to the menu.
I have even tried downgrading to 16.4.2, that did work nice before. But still the same problem.
Ill attach a log, so you can see. http://pastebin.com/B4ufy1Ew

I have also deactivated the "recommendations" in Android for all aps.

May I just ask why you have deactivated recommendations?

After much reading at Kodi forum, that was mentioned many times as a possible solution.
And I don't see any usage of that for me. I don't use the Android home anyways 😊

Hi again :-)

I have know tried different things. Logs for every test here.

MediaCodec and MediaCodec Surface ON: Still problems with the sereis The Big Bang Therory S01E16 and E16

MediaCodec OFF and MediaCodec Surface ON: Same as above.

MediaCodec ON and MediaCodec Surface OFF: Same as above.

Now set as in the wiki for 1080P: Same as above, but Person of Interest plays as it should. All three tested in the same LOG.

I use Google drive for the logs, when Pastebin don't want any bigger than 512KB files.

I have the same issue with a nexbox a95x. Do you have the box connected through wifi or ethernet? I've changed to ethernet and the problems seem to be gone. Several hours and no stopping.

Hi

I have it connected with Ethernet, but only 100Mbit, not 1Gbit LAN. Don't think that's the issue, I can easily play 1080p with DTS and this is just 720p DTS.

Anyway, something strange is it. It plays nice on VLC on an old computer, with just WiFi.

I actually got the same issue, but I played a movie with TrueHD/Atmos soundtrack, had no issues when I played a movie with DTS-HD.
I got the Shield just 2 days ... so haven't done any real testing yet ...

Wife is abit pissed, she said move back to the RPi ... that always worked perfectly ;)

[edit] I actually don't have the same issue, my Shield restarts completly [/edit]

Now I have the same issue with Kodi 17 rc3. It seems that only happens with wifi. Ethernet for now is ok. Maybe is router related.

+1 here. So far I've not been able to find a pattern. Just watch from a USB connected HDD, different video file formats. In my case, it goes to "pause" as if I pressed the pause button -which I did not-.

Setup. Nvidia shield tv 3.3, original version, SPMC 16.5.5 -issue started with 16.5 for me-...then hdmi-receiver-hdmi-tv. Nothing changed on the chain.

Also always used nvidia through wifi.

Ideas welcome.

My problem have now come back.
Suddenly it starts buffering and/or buffering 10% for so go out in black and back to main menu.

I could check the files for error but don't know what program to use (Windows).
Even if I don't really think there is a problem with the files.
