Add fine-tunning with arrow keys

Would it be possible to add fine-tuning adjustability when taking the initial screen shot, or if better, once the initial rectangle has been marked?

I would envision this working as follows:

1. the user starts by marking the a starting point on the screen.
2. with the mouse left-button being depressed, the user can then also use the arrow keys to adjust the starting x and y locations manually. Once these are adjusted manually, they are set.
3. When the user moves the mouse to the second location, marking the rectangular area to be captured, the user can again make manual adjustments with the arrow keys. At this point the user would release the mouse button.

1. The user marks the area, close as possible to what they want.
2. Then the user hovers the mouse over a corner or a side, the app indicates that manual adjustments are possible.
3. the user can then make adjustments specific to the side or corner that they are working with.
4. the user then presses enter or the left mouse button to select the adjusted screenshot section.

Agreed. Tools like Flameshot have a similar feature and it is the only feature that I would miss if I replace it with Ksnip. Mind you,
if you accidentally select the wrong area (which may be quite often on touchpads), it would be a hassle to dismiss the new screenshot and do the selection all over again.

I would prefer doing the fine-tunning on the resize window, that's @Brian67's second option but with the difference that I wouldn't involve the mouse cursor. How about having CTRL+ARROW_KEY moves the top left corner (resizing) and ALT+ARROW_KEY moves the bottom right corner (resizing) and only ARROW_KEY moves the whole selection (move)?

That sounds great. I would suggest using tooltips with those shortcuts displayed, when hovering those two "hot corners". Basically it would create an extra feature: adjusting the entire selection. I'm thinking about another usecase of it: if the screen is filled with bunch of rectangles of the same size (i.e. comments, products, photos, etc.), and you'd like to create several separate screenshot images, the workflow would be as follows:

1. trigger a new screenshot
2. set your corners with ALT and CTRL + arrow keys
3. edit the screenshot and save
4. trigger a new screenshot
5. re-use the dimensions of the previous selection
6. move the selection to any desired position with arrow keys
7. edit the screenshot and save

Transition from 5. to 6. would be the real benefit of the new feature. Very nice!

That might be another features because the reuse previous selection skips the selection process completely, so we would need to think about a clever way to allow users to resize this selection. Either a setting or new capture option, we might need to have a separate discussion about it.

But for the initial idea for resizing and moving with arrow keys I think that this is a doable way. I'll log a new feature request for that if there are not further additions.

Super! Just having the ability to fine tune either as a selection is made, or after it is made but before it is captured, either way is great. That would be awesome. Thank you.

This is now implemented, you can test it in the latest continuous build of 1.9.0, might require some time to build (up to 2 hours from this post).
