Seems to me you have here two questions? New from clipboard feature -> Is already supported, you can paste an image or path to image from clipboard or drag and drop an image into ksnip and it will open it as tab. If you paste an image with It would be possible to use such straightforward anitation tool aside with other image apps. -> kImageAnnotator is an library that can be used in other Qt applications, it's already used in Spectacle. |

Is great these features are implemented but in some cases it does not work like that. On fresh started Ksnip it worked as you wrote. When I will be able to reproduce the steps I will report them. I am sorry, the app works different than I am used to from Gimp, Greenshot and other apps. I will learn Ksnip because it is the best screenshot app I know on Linux. |

Sorry to hear that, in what way does ksnip behave different then other applications? The behavior that I wrote above should be always like that, independent of fresh start or not. |

The difference is in the UX and shortcuts.
That's how my mistake begin. With no opened picture a searched File menu, New menu to open from clipboard and completely omitted Edit > Paste option. |

Maybe we should share this discussion with other users, maybe it's worth changing existing shortcuts. But also, the focus in ksnip is a bit different then in gimp I would say. In ksnip you primary add new images and quickly edit them and in gimp you rather edit an image for a longer time so the primary operations, which have shorter shortcuts, are different in both tools. |
