Logistic regression code in R #1

I am trying to write my own algorithm for an assignment i am working on. It is about logistic regression and i am implementing IRLS in R.

However I am getting this result

The end result should be a 8 x 1 matrix ,not a square matrix but i'm confused why it keeps telling me this

Please help!!!
