Linux, long time ago, have drivers for Sundblaster Live , the driver is snd-emu10k1, loads automatically and have same functionality of KX/creative drivers

Linux has their own driver. If you want to make adjustments to it open terminal command and type in alsamixer or install alsamixer app for linux. The only thing linux drivers is lacking is all the effects like crossovers or other effects. But you can install WINE and use Foobar for audio crossover DSP plugin in linux which works for me.

Linux kernel has some of the audio routing functions from KX included for use in JACK
Low latency, multichannel audio with JACK and the emu10k1/emu10k2 | kernel.org

I wanted the GUI and plugins that are similar to what Kx Provided. I tried to do this long ago and gave up with trying to understand JACK.

What did work for me was using WINE with Foobar2000 and using a crossover plugin which gave me what I wanted. The only problem was getting video playback to work on Foobar 2000 which someone did do but its buggy to use as a daily driver.
