Running the Software
Follow these steps to run the software on one or more machines/devices.
BusyLight supports Windows 10 1903 (released May 2019) or greater. Make sure your machine is compatible before proceeding.
Download the installer and install BusyLight on the machine attached to your BlinkStick.
Set the necessary configuration before running the software.
Open the software using the BusyLight shortcut in your Start Menu. Then, look in your system tray (at the bottom of your screen, near the clock - sometimes called the Notification Area), where you should see a square icon - this icon and your BlinkStick will light up together when tracked activity is detected. You may right-click on BusyLight's system tray icon to Open or Quit the software, or to visit this repository's homepage.
Install the software on any additional machines where you are working and where no BlinkStick is attached - activity on those machines will illuminate your BlinkStick. These additional machines will also require the necessary configuration.
If you have one or more additional Windows machines on which you are both 1) working and 2) unable to install/run BusyLight, see Alternate Client.
Illumination is synchronized between the system tray icon and your BlinkStick.
- open BusyLight[1]
- observe BusyLight's darkened system tray icon (at the bottom of your screen, near the clock - sometimes called the Notification Area)
- open the Voice Recorder app
- observe no change in BusyLight's system tray icon
- start recording
- observe that both BusyLight's system tray icon and your BlinkStick immediately illuminate
- stop recording
- observe that illumination ceases within ~10 seconds
