- Make it possible to input a Resident Advisor event lineup, and the app will search Soundcloud for matching mixes by those DJs.
- The app will allow the user to preview these mixes. It can do this by loading a Soundcloud embed for the track. This allows the user to click through the mix and view comments to get an idea of the vibe.
- The idea is to be able to do something like Discover Quickly but for mixes. To be able to quickly get the vibe of a mix without needing to click through it.
- You could potentially do something like a 'Tinder' interface where you swipe left or right on mixes and create a list of mixes to explore.
- Resident Advisor DJ profiles (for example, Chloe Caillet) sometimes have direct links to Soundcloud profiles. We can use that.
- We can also piggyback off Resident Advisor's graphql API - if you browse around and look at your network tab, it looks pretty easy to fetch related artists, venues, events etc.
- We can also just search Soundcloud. I had a look in the network tab and found this URL: https://api-v2.soundcloud.com/search/tracks?q=Choe%20Caillet&variant_ids=2622&filter.duration=epic&facet=genre&user_id=[MY_USER_ID_HERE]&client_id=[MY_CLIENT_ID_HERE]&limit=20&offset=0&linked_partitioning=1&app_locale=en
- From there, we can use yt-dlp to download mixes
- I'd like to use HTMX for the interface.

Inside of your Astro project, you'll see the following folders and files:
/
├── public/
├── src/
│ └── pages/
│ └── index.astro
└── package.json
Astro looks for .astro
or .md
files in the src/pages/
directory. Each page is exposed as a route based on its file name.
There's nothing special about src/components/
, but that's where we like to put any Astro/React/Vue/Svelte/Preact components.
Any static assets, like images, can be placed in the public/
directory.
All commands are run from the root of the project, from a terminal:
