Dictionary

Source files of De differentiis verborum, Popma (1865).

Files

  • transcript.txt - the main file of the dictionary
  • lexicon.json - is a supplementary file representing headwords
  • Notepadpp-UserLang.xml - syntax highlight for Notepad++

Mark-up

  • $$1$$ - every article starts with a unique number corresponding to the item in lexicon.json.
  • +Amare+ - headword
  • *...* - quotation
  • *Dicitur ==actori==, atque etiam ==procuratori== tuo* - double sign = marks headwords inside of the quotation
  • "..." - similar to quotations, this is an example of the word use (see Agmen). This tag is rare.
  • #Cic. Phil. XIV.# - souce of the citation
  • _Hoc_ - italic text, is used almost exclusively for the words "Hoc", "Ille", "Illud", and so on.
  • +Pluvia+ V. %Imber% — percent sign % marks links to other articles

Notepad++

Use Notepadpp-UserLang.xml for syntax highlighting in Notepad++.

Open menu:

  • Language
  • User Defined Language
  • Define your language...

Press "Import..." and choose the file.

The new language "Popma1865" will appear in the bottom of the "Language" menu.
