Log in problems after install

Looks like this entire package is broken. At first I thought this was just me, but apparently not.
Cant log into the demo site, or on localhost after a fresh install (I went through all the install steps, no issues)

Failed:
Admin http://demo.lavalite.org/admin
Superuser : superuser@superuser.com / superuser@superuser
Also tried superuser@superuser / superuser
Admin : admin@admin.com - admin@admin
Also tried admin@admin/admin

It just keeps giving me "Error: Invalid username or password."
So, on my localhost, I changed the password in the db directly (to be a hash of "admin123", satisfying the min length requirement.
Still cannot log in and gives me an error page.
