This is my setup / Zingo

Specs

Machine weight: 106 kg Max. User Weight: 135 kg Dimensions: (L) 203 cm x (B) 88 cm x (H) 149 cm Technical Data: DC-Motor: 3 HP commercial grade motor Lauffläche: 152 x 51 cm speed: 0.5 - 20 km/h (adjust in steps 0.1 km/h) incline: 0 - 12 % Training computer: Ok

pros / cons

Pro

  • If stopped keep current workout for ever
  • solid / good quality
  • incline / speed adjust within the armrest
  • 20 km/h max
  • Seem to have a quite good set of spare parts
  • Easy to interface
  • Support iFit via SD Card

Cons

no smart features

ESP32_TTGO_FTMS interface

Level 1 integration, Just show speed/incline.

A:

From the lower part (motor compartment) there goes a cable harnest to the computer, 3 cables can be used in it

  • 1 - Red: 9V
  • 2 - Black: Ground
  • 3 - Green: REED/Tachiometer signal

Connection:

9V can be used to power your board, you just need a power converter to 5V Ground you connect to your ground. REED, this you need to levershift to 3.3V used by ESP32 and connect as REED (usually pin 26 on the ESP) Something like https://www.digikey.se/sv/products/detail/sparkfun-electronics/BOB-12009/5673795 could probably be used

Incline is read by a separate sensor (MPU6050).

Thats all!

Level 2 integration: Controll the Treadmill

B:

From the treadmill handbar there goes a harnes to the computer with 6 cables

  • 1 - Green
  • 2 - Yellow
  • 3 - Red
  • 4 - Orange
  • 5 - Pink
  • 6 - Purple

This is the button on the handbar, e.g Incline Down, Incline Up, Start, Stop, Speed -, Speed +

They are 5V when not pressed and 0V when pressed. To controll them the software set them to 0v for about 200ms. Unfortunaly I don't remeber the order but it was quite easy to figure out, just measure voltage on one and press each button one at a time.

Connection:

All or some can be connected to the project (as you wish), same as with the REED signal above you need to levershift to 3.3V used by the ESP32. In my setup I have connected all of this on the other side of the levelshift together with 6 buttons to a I2C based GPIO extender chip AW9523 on my PCB ( https://www.adafruit.com/product/4886 might be used )
