PL/Perl does not support any time-related datatype manipulation from Perl, so this would be a really cool feature that would set us apart. How do we go about doing it? I think this is a great place to use a PMC.

Is there a time object in Parrot? Or an interval?

No. There is a time object for Rakudo, though: http://github.com/moritz/Date
