OTA flash failed

From: v2.0-20180203
To: ESP_Easy_mega-20181108_normal_ESP8266_4096.bin

Device: Wemis D1 mini 4MB

Holding Reset button for 5+ sec does not help.

Connecting D3 to G for 5+ sec does not help.

No COM port when connecting to PC.

How to flash again? LED just blinks once when powered up, but nothing else.

thx

From such an old version to newer version is not entirely guaranteed to work.
You may try several things:

  • short RX/TX of the serial port and press reset shortly. => reset to factory default
  • flash the empty bin (included in the ZIP) => erase all flash

Either way you will need to connect the node to the serial port to flash it.
When you don't see the COM port on the PC, you may try to reset the USB hub if you use one.
Sometimes even need to restart the PC (USB freezes may be hard to reset sometimes)

The Wemos D1 does not have a flash button like the NodeMCU has.
What this button does, is connect GPIO0 to ground during boot and you may need to keep it grounded during flash sometimes.

If this is still unresolved, please take it to the forum.
This is not a github issue (change of code needed), but a support question, so I will close this issue for now.
