I created a "queen.scummvm" file with the text "queen" as content and placed it in the same directory
Used content scan on the folder and the game got detected and added to a ScummVM playlist (note that without the above file, the game was not being detected)
Opening the game results in the Scummvm message: "Error running game: Game data not found"
If I load the Scummvm core by itself and choose the directory from it, the game loads correctly. However, loading the game directly or through the playlist entry doesn't work for any of the games I tried it with.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
I've noticed now that it actually works but only after the folder has already been manually added in the ScummVM interface.
I'm not sure if the location of the ".scummvm" file matters at all.
Is that how it's intended to work? There's no documentation about it.
I expected that loading the scummvm file would be equivalent to how the official Unix scummvm binary can be called from the commandline:
scummvm --path=PATH_TO_GAME UNIQUE_GAME_NAME
Ferk
changed the title
Loading *.scummvm files: "Game data not found"
Loading *.scummvm files for games not previously loaded in the ScummVM GUI: "Game data not found"

I downloaded the free ScummVM game "Flight of the Amazon Queen, Freeware CD Version (mp3 compressed sfx/speech)" from the official ScummVM website and uncompressed in a folder with the name "queen".
