This PR will track the effort to get the gtk backend merged. Work on gtk should be PR'd onto the druid-gtk branch.

This supersedes and closes #120; the comments in that PR that are unresolved should be addressed in PRs onto druid-gtk.

This approach has basically hit a brick wall, since Druid expects you to be
able to create windows before the main loop starts up, while GTK Very Much Does
Not. Trying to poke things to crank the event loop a bit before entering the
main loop forever didn't bear much fruit. It may be possible if we dip down
into C-land for a bit first.

Okay, I've updated this branch to the latest master. There are a few significant changes that will need to be addressed in gtk:

There may be other small changes, but these should be the significant stuff.

@mrandri19 @ratmice: any help getting this over the line would be appreciated, please open PRs for any part of this work onto this branch. Thanks again!
