Clicking on this button in the applications menu does not result in anything being displayed.
Trying to go to keyboard layout in system settings also fails (window disappears)

The menu command runs "gnome-control-center region" which works for me in a terminal. Also just running "gnome-control-center" then clicking keyboard layout works from a terminal.

Just forked and compiled Cinnamon today, ran using --replace. May be an issue with my setup - can anyone reproduce?

Could not reproduce it :(
With my language setup as Spanish (es-ES) I can open both "Distribución del teclado" (Keyboard layout) and "Teclado" (Keyboard) from the menu. The first one opens the same dialog as "gnome-control-center region" without problem.

Seems to work ok over here to. Launching them from the menu works alright as does the command from the terminal.

Many thanks for the responses. Had a bit of a further test with this. Only happens when I run cinnamon from within gnome with --replace (and sudo). Not sure if that even represents a problem!

I can reproduce it as well.. I think it's like the trash issue... these services are initiated by GNOME when the session is open. After restarting Cinnamon alone, they become unavailable. I don't think it's something related to Cinnamon itself, so I'm closing the issue.
