Distance values reported by 2nd-gen Intuos tablets are on an inveted scale (0 == far, 63 == near). We need to change them over to a normal scale before reporting to userspace or else userspace drivers and applications can get confused. Ref: linuxwacom#98 Fixes: eda01dab53 ("HID: wacom: Add four new Intuos devices") Signed-off-by: Jason Gerecke <jason.gerecke@wacom.com>

commit b72fb1dcd2ea9d29417711cb302cef3006fa8d5a upstream. Distance values reported by 2nd-gen Intuos tablets are on an inverted scale (0 == far, 63 == near). We need to change them over to a normal scale before reporting to userspace or else userspace drivers and applications can get confused. The second-gen "Intuos" tablets (CTL-490, CTL-690, CTH-490, CTH-690) report incorrect distance values from the kernel. The hardware itself uses an inverted distance scale where "0" is as far away as possible and "63" is as close as possible. This isn't a problem on its own (all previous consumer tablets use the same scale), but the kernel device reports
ABS_MISC
events, which flags userspace that this is a "protocol 5" device. Protocol 5 uses a normal distance scale ("0" is near, "63" is far), so the data from this tablet is incorrectly interpreted. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
