Cannot edit in read-only editor

Cannot edit in read-only editor - what this mind? I see this when trying type something on files, and not understanding why can edit. I'ts confusion for me if some setings are "uploadOnSave": true,
It's possible to work with this like eg. notepad++ on live edit or not?
Looks this ext can be first candidate to solve my problems in way of implementation this type solutions (specialy search and file/dir creation):

It's need more option like context menu to edit settings, manage profiles - the profiles not working for me and not understand how this should works (in my opininon this should have some dock windwos to rollout like in VSC explorer as opened tabs, current dir project, todo, outline).
The logs from FTP can be friendly in context menu and saved somewhere to set by settings where.
