Persistent OpenCL problem, not sure what to do... #50417
Comments
Running clinfo, I'm experiencing a similar issue with a AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT running Ubuntu 22.10:
See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libclc/+bug/1909805 |

This feels like an issue with the driver/loader, have you tried to discuss it with Mesa community? |
I think libclc was never updated with all the newer subtargets |
There's an open issue on Mesa side https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/4189 albeit it's regarding clover, which seems to be going to be dropped, replaced by rusticl, see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/19385 |
This should be fixed, see explanation for the same issue here: #52665 (comment) Feel free to close this. |
Extended Description
Recently i purchased a 5500XT, what i did not realize at
the time is that it was a 4Gb one which seems to be a bad thing and i
have now spent weeks trying everything i can think of as well as tons of
help from different posts all over the internet, as you may have guessed
the purpose is ETH mining, yes i know, the card is outdated... that
being said i just cannot get the Redminer to see the card, below is the
clinfo information, i really would appreciate some guidance as to how to
resolve the problem, Redminer gives "no opencl platform detected" clean
shutdown :(
