Unable to make first pairing

After clicking "pair" the plugin admin shows the "code" field for a second and then immediately returns to "pair".

First clicking of "pair" results in following homebridge log:

Second click produces an almost identical log with some additional information:

Device is Toshiba (Vestel) Cosmos 9 running latest Android officialy available (Kernel 4.9.118+, Toshiba software version 0.28.22.0)

I gave up, the dev is not responsive at all (it has been a year since my report) and this project is apparently dead.
