This release contains updates to the mirror reflectivities to match "as measured" Al and Ag curves, as well as updates to the broad band coatings on the lenses and updates to the filter curves to match "as measured" filter curves.

The mirrors in this release are Al-Ag-Al.

Triple silver - 3Ag - mirror coatings.
As-measured filter throughputs, broadband coatings on the lenses, and mirror reflectivities.

v1.7 was tagged late, but corresponds to updates in the throughputs for the mirror reflectivity as measured July 2019. (When the secondary mirror measurement was updated after a second measurement).

This is a minor update for throughputs (the lens2 glass and BBAR coating curves have been extended in their wavelength information, but the curves themselves are the same as previously). However it is a major update for documentation and process information, as reflected in the "documentation" subdirectory.

In previous versions, the readnoise was automatically set from sims_photUtils values. These values were below current requirements. This has been corrected so that readnoise is now set to match the instrument readnoise requirements (total of 9e-/pix/exposure).
Updates to table2 and plots result, as well as hard-coding these requirements values into calcM5.py and calcM5_throughputs.py. (in the future, these requirements values should be pulled from the system parameter database).

  • Added documentation on physical origin/description of each throughput curve.
  • Updated m5 scripts to calculate counts in electrons rather than ADU (i.e. I set gain=1) to better match syseng standards.

First release of the syseng_throughputs repository, where throughput curves can be built from the individual components including losses.
These curves were placed into the repository by Chuck Claver at the time of their first commit; they have not been altered but the locations of the files have been rearranged while building the repo structure. Thus, these are generally committed as of early 2015.

There are various useful python scripts in the python directory. In a future release these will be rearranged to a more easily importable python package. However, these scripts can be easily used to generated evaluations for PST or syseng purposes and also to create a new tagged THROUGHPUTS repository.
