Hardcoded names are retained in the unit tests to ensure independence from the code being tested.

This PR allows the
--datasetcommand-line argument and theDatasetconstructor to accept the name of a dataset's Git repository as input. The old practice of using special names is deprecated, and this PR also removes all references to those names from the documentation.
