Double Lucia Instances: Admin and Customer Management

Is it possible to use two separate instances of Lucia, one for admin users and another for customers?
I maintain distinct tables for each user group.
Could someone please advise on the recommended approach to manage this?

If my initial question was unclear, can i define

const adminAuth = lucia({/* options */});

and then use them independently?

Sorry for the late response. Currently you can't have multiple lucia() instances or else types for User and Session will break.

Is it only a type level limitation ?
Are there any future plans to support it ?

I'm looking forward to the v3 release, but part of me was really hoping there was finally a solution for this. I've been wanting to switch to Lucia for a long time but this has been the main blocker. @pilcrowOnPaper mentioned in Discord that removing the Lucia namespace added complexity, but I'm super curious if there is any way this could be supported in the future because I think the use-case is super valid.

The solution in that Discord thread (putting admin attributes in a separate table and retrieving them separately) just doesn't work with how my database needs to be laid out -- users and admins basically have nothing in common, not even the login options (admins only with Google, users have a few different options).

I was able to do this by modifying the Lucia User interface in dist/core.d.ts (with patch-package)

Not a perfect solution but it works for me. Common props are then accessible on the user object returned from e.g. validateSession. Can also narrow the type to access admin or customer specific props:
