Verizon FSD to Google Calendar is an extension for Chrome/Opera/OperaGX that is designed to convert new jobs entered into Verizon Connect Reveal's Field Service Dispatch platform to Events in Google Calendar with one click. These Events can be formatted based on whatever criteria/data points you specify, including those that Field Service Dispatch does not track, such as billing information. This eliminates the need for double entry, gives the end user much more control over both the type, and the granularity of data visible for each individual job, and, ultimately, consolidates all data for a week's worth of jobs in such a way that it can: 1. Be viewed within a single screen, and 2. Be interpreted and applied to the service call process quickly, easily, and without the need for any clicking or page navigation.
To be clear, this extension effectively hijacks Google Calendar's "quick add" function, turning Google Calendar (a scheduling app), into a data viewer, which is not something it was ever designed to be. If your business is already using Google Calendar as your default scheduling application, then this extension will require substantial legwork to get up and running, and probably isn't the solution you're looking for.

If you are a Chrome user, navigate to
chrome://extensionsand turn Developer Mode "on" in the top right corner. If you are an Opera/OperaGX user, navigate toopera://extensionsand turn Developer Mode "on" in the top right corner. -
Select the "Load unpacked" option in the top left corner, then navigate to the
FSD to Google Calendar Filesfolder and select it. It is located directly inside theVerizon-FSD-to-Google-Calendar-master/folder extracted from the ZIP file. Once selected, click "Select Folder" button. This will add the extension to your browser. -
Install the Tampermonkey extension.

Install the FSD Variable Storage, FSD ID Generator, and FSD Button userscripts in Tampermonkey. To install Tampermonkey userscripts hosted on Greasy Fork, follow the userscript links listed above and click "Install this script" on each of them.
Intro:
Verizon's Field Service Dispatch platform is great at what it was designed to do: Track the location and time of individual technicians/crews on a minute-to-minute basis, and use that information to assign them to jobs over the course of the work day. Because of it's intended usage, the details FSD gives the end user the ability to see are limited. This isn't so much a flaw with FSD as a platform as it is a consequence of what FSD was designed to do. That said, some users, like us, may have a company specific need to see broad, big-data details about a weeks’ worth of jobs at once, and interpret them quickly, which is why the ability to transfer orders to Google Calendar is so beneficial for us. This extension allows users to transfer any jobs to do saved in FSD to Google Calendar instantly. Here's how it works:
*Step 1:
As soon as you have saved a new work order in FSD, it’s time to transfer it over to Google Calendar. The first thing you always need to do is refresh the webpage. You can do this by clicking the “Refresh” button in your browser, or by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+R.
Step 2:
Once you have refreshed the webpage, verify that the “Select Job Details” button can be seen on the top right-hand side of your screen. It looks like this:
If you can see this button, that means the extension is functioning correctly. If you don’t see it, keep refreshing the page until it appears.
Step 3:
Now you need to select the service order you want to transfer from the “Pending” panel on the left-hand side of the screen. If you just saved a new service order, it will be the one at the very bottom. For example: Let’s assume this entry was just saved to FSD, and we need to transfer it to Google Calendar.
Click on the service order in the “Pending” panel, and it will open back up in a side panel to the right-hand side of the page that looks like this:
Once this panel is open, we’re ready to transfer.
Step 4:
Click the large red button at the top right-hand side of the screen that says “Select Job Details”. When you do, all of the text in the job’s panel on the right-hand side of the screen will be selected, highlighting it in blue, as shown below:
Once the text is highlighted, you can move to the next step.
Step 5:
Right click anywhere inside the side panel with the selected text. If you right click outside of the side panel with the selected text, the transfer will fail.
When you right click, a context menu will appear. Inside of that context menu, you will see an icon labeled “FSD to Google Calendar”. It will look like this:
Click on it, and when you do, Google Calendar will open in a new tab.
This new tab will open with the entire Google Calendar entry already filled out, with the exception of the event description, as shown below:
Step 6:
Now, all we need is the description. The extension has automatically set your cursor’s position to the description text box, and copied the description from FSD to your clipboard. All you need to do at this point is give the page about 1 second to load, and then use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+V to Paste. This will paste the description from the job in FSD to this text box.
Final Step:
Verify that the information is correct, and hit Save at the top of the page.
If you make a mistake at any point in this process, all you need to do is refresh the page and start over.
Disabling Developer Mode within your browser will cause this extension to be unloaded. (For Chome users) If Chrome detects that it is in Developer Mode upon a broswer restart, the user may be given the option to turn Developer Mode off. If this notification appears, close it. If Developer Mode is disabled by mistake and the Verizon FSD to Google Calendar extension is unloaded, repeat steps 2 and 3 of the installation process to reload the extension.
During the installation process, once you have extracted the contents of Verizon-FSD-to-Google-Calendar-master.zip and loaded it as an unpacked extension, do not move the Verizon-FSD-to-Google-Calendar-master folder. Your browser will not be able to load the extension if this folder is moved.
- Options Menu
Currently, the extension only has the ability to format Google Calendar entires in the way seen in the uasge images above, I.E. Date, Client Name, and Phone Number in the "Event Title" field. Eventually, I plan on adding an options menu where the user could configure the Google Calendar event differently, depending on their needs.
- Automatic Update (via API)
Add functionality for any changes made in either entry to be reflected in both.
