open pcmanfm-qt; then press the home-key
current behavior: nothing happens
expected behavior: the first file should be marked

I have first to mark a file, or press the end-key, or press the arrow-right-key, and then the home-key works

System Information

Distribution & Version: Manjero LXQt
pcmanfm-qt: 0.15.1

When you open a directory, the first file is the current file. Current view-items can be selected by pressing Space.

Hadn't you seen any item-view? Do you know about Dolphin?...

Oh, from another comment of yours, I remembered that you might be a new Qt user. Hence the following explanation.

This is the default behavior of Qt's item views:

Home changes the current item to the first item in an item-view and, depending on the properties of that view, may also select it. If the first item is already the current item, Home has nothing to do. Space always selects the current item.

I guess your problem is about the concept of "current item". The "current item" is an item that has keyboard focus, whether it's selected or not. In general, it can be any widget: a view-item, a button, a combo-box, etc. "Current" widgets/items are usually marked by a dotted or pale outline, depending on the widget style. You can always interact with them by pressing Space.
