1911-and-1922-Encyclopaedia-Britannica

"[An] amazing compendium of scholarship and fact..." -- Charles Elliott, The Literary Review

“probably the finest edition of the Britannica ever issued, and it ranks with the Enciclopedia Italiana and the Espasa as one of the three greatest encyclopaedias... positioned in time as a summary of the world’s knowledge just before the outbreak of World War I” -- Collison, Robert. Encyclopedias: Their History Throughout the Ages. New York: Hafner, 1964. Print.

The eleventh edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica, with three further volumes published in 1922, to make the twelfth edition.

Adapted as an electronic dictionary for dictionary software such as Goldendict or Stardict.

Images have been omitted for size, but can be viewed by links.

Articles of the eleventh edition are mostly proofread at compilation of this dictionary (on 9th March 2024) by the Wikisource project, but not articles of the newer volumes, which are marked at the bottom.
