We bought this 2nd hand with money from a group of members. They got an amount of free cutting time to match their monetary contribution.
This machine can be dangerous and therefore you need to be trained by another member first.
The laser has no safety interlock, therefore NEVER OPEN THE DOOR WHILE CUTTING. You risk blindness.

80W tube: it has been fitted with an 80W tube when the original 60W tube got depleted. We built a custom enclosure to fit the new tube as it was too long.

Water chiller: it which was donated by another member. We need to run the chiller in summer as the water does not cool down enough without it. The chiller is starting to fail so we need to replace it soon.

RFID payment system (see https://github.com/mademakerspace/RfidLaserControl): The RFID payment system is currently offline while the board is being rebuilt so that it can be installed outside of the laser tube enclosure. We are looking for someone to finish the job. In the meantime we are back to a manual payment system (cash box and paper sheet to register payments).
