The last release was tagged in 1.12.0, two and a half years ago as of now. Dependent packages, including those published in melpa-stable, have started using newer features. Maybe it's time to tag and publish a new release to melpa-stable?

@magnars can you schedule a release in the next few weeks?

I'm getting Github actions up and running for tests on my fork https://github.com/emacsfodder/s.el

Once I've stabilized that and agreed with @magnars on a release schedule, we'll move forward to release the next stable version.
