A simple way to connect an SDLogger to a computer is to use a modified FTDI-cable. The modification is needed since SDLogger is designed to directly connect to an Arduino Pro and must have the RX and TX lines swapped in order to connect to an FTDI cable. This modification is simple to do by following these steps:

  1. Get a 5V or 3.3V FTDI cable from Adafruit, SparkFun or any other vendor selling the FTDI cable. Another option is to get an FTDI Friend and a 6-pin extension cable.
  2. Pull out the yellow and orange wire in the cable connector by gently lifting the plastic tabs that's holding the wires in the connector housing and pull the wires out.
  3. Re-insert the yellow and orange wires into the connector housing swapped. The wire order should be like this after the swap:
  4. Connect the cable to SDLogger using a 6-pin header.
