Basic info
Application name: Nuxeo Drive
Application repo link: https://github.com/nuxeo/nuxeo-drive
Application home link: https://www.nuxeo.com/products/drive-desktop-sync/
Application description: Cross-platform desktop synchronization client for the Nuxeo platform.
Qualifications
There are a ton of great Python projects out there, but what makes an
application "Awesome™"? Please check that all of the following criteria apply:
Note that installability via pip/PyPI and a developer-audience focus
may warrant a higher standard for inclusion, in keeping with the
spirit of the list:
http://sedimental.org/awesome_python_applications.html
-> Hard to ship a full application on PyPi :) But the app is using the home made Python SDK, which is available on PyPi (https://pypi.org/project/nuxeo/).
Additional notability info
I think cross-platform desktop apps needs visibility. Here people can find valuable information about freezing and packaging a full application.
If the name is not well know it is because this is specific to the company I currently work for. This is a Dropbox like application. The project is FOSS since its creation, on 2011.
The projects uses Python 3.7.4 (at the moment), PyQt 5.13 and QML, PyInstaller, Sentry; and generate "installers" for macOS (DMG) and Windows (EXE), and a universal binary on GNU/Linux (AppImage). And everything is codesigned.
About the user base, we are about
7,000
users (it should logically go higher with months), hard to really know, this is based on opt-in metrics. Finally, I am not sure if you are interested in such application, but I try :)
