This is an issue that has been partly discussed here. My understanding is that TeX cannot handle paragraphed notes without having the text going either below the bottom margin or beyond the right margin. If the former problem can be (somehow) handled by invoking the footfudgefiddle command, there seems to be no solution for the right margin. My question is the following. I need to use the geometry package--is there a command (or hack) similar to \Xmaxhnotes or \footfudgefiddle in order to prevent the text from going over the right margin?
