In the enterprise world spring boot and microservices are currently very trendy. Since it is very challenging to design, develop, test, manage, deploy and discover this microservices its a big help to have a common foundation for all microservices. If you are using gradle for your build than have a look at my repo gradle-spring-boot-microservice-plugin, if not it will at least give you an idea of how a foundation for microservices could look like.
