Idea:
Don't wait for DOM Ready Event - maybe go for getting the search query out of the url instead of the search input (using Chrome API)

Better but far away from fast. But this is probably WolframAlphas fault - let's let this one open to think about later.

I don't know any way how this could be faster to be honest. We request the Wolfram-result as soon as possible.
I suggest a WON'T-FIX.

Someone should try to determine where and how much time gets lost. I'm quite sure that beside WolframAlpha there is something different causing some delay.
