I want to spend some time cleaning up this project. That means, checking out and hopefully closing some old Issues, Testing and merging the open PR and generally improving this library.

A couple of things to have by the end:

• More consistent Serial API (Clean up the softserial/hw serial mess)
• Functional across the main platforms (Arduino, ESP32/8266)
• Tests of the functionality
• Publish to the Arduino Library Manager
• Backwards compatibility
