As far as I understand "Sphinx" can't shard an index across multiple nodes.
Did "Manticore" inherit this limitation? Cannot find an answer in the docs.

Yes, there has not been any changes with regards to this, i.e. you can do
it manually and then combine the indexes running on different nodes via a
distributed index, but there's no functionality to shard automatically.
Is automatic sharding important for you? What's the key reason then? Are
you expecting scaling or there's smth else behind this?
