Hello,

While contributing some bus routes on [http://www.openstreetmap.org/ OpenStreetMap] and trying to render them with their respecitve official colours, I wondered if it was possible to implement into mapnik a feature allowing to set datas in the stylesheet issued from the postgreSQL database.

For example, the subway lines in Paris have a specific and "official" which could be described in the OSM database (as well as the postgresql database) as a column "color" ; it could be a useful and very nice feature if we could use this parameter directly into the directive, as something like :

{{{ }}}

{{{ 5 }}}

{{{ [color] }}}

{{{ }}}

Thanks

[springmeyer] Yes, this would be a welcome feature I think to many users. For now however, I'm going to push this ticket to the next milestone as we won't have time to address this in the next release.
