Debian packaging has identified runtime errors in Mapnik 0.6.1 ranging from segfaults to boost assertions (variant has_fallback_type_ is false errors) when running nosetests or the 'rundemo.py' program.

I've finally been able to replicate. Building 0.6.1 on debian lenny and alpha releases of Karmic did not prompt the errors, but now I've been able to replicate on karmic beta. I think this will occur with g++ versions >= 4.4.1.

[springmeyer] think this is related to #345

[springmeyer] r1340 fixed the segfault when running the nosetests.

Previously:

{{{
python_tests.datasource_test.test_total_feature_count ... Segmentation fault (core dumped)
}}}

... now they run without failures.
