The tutorials on the Mapstraction site currently show a http://mapstractions.com hosted version being used rather than suggesting developers download and host it themselves.

Whilst this is convenient, it's currently served from Github and we have no SLA with them and there are no guarantees this hosting wont just disappear one day breaking a lot of people's sites.

It would be good to get a version up on cdnjs and update the examples in the tutorials to point to that as soon as possible.

Absolutely agree with all of this. I've just added the Release 3.0 milestone to this issue. The one caveat is that this won't take place until v3.0 is either released or we make this happen coincident with the release. Yes, we could do this prior to the release of v3.0, with the current v2.x stable version, but my preference is to concentrate of getting v3.0 out of the door and not get distracted by the previous version.

The documentation and examples will also be taken care of via Issue #303
