Expected behaviour

Direct message conversations remain as long as there are posts in them.

Actual behaviour

Conversations disappear if we replied last and we delete our last post. Note that this doesn't happen if another participant had replied last and deletes their post. It also comes back after a refresh.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Reply to an existing DM conversation
  2. Delete reply
  3. Return to the DM column

Specifications

Mastodon v2.8.0, in Chrome 74.0.3729.108 on Linux

it seems that the conversation re-appears if the page is refreshed, at the very least
