Pitch

I'd like an option to entirely hide all posts with images marked as sensitive content.

Motivation

I don't want to see posts with sensitive media at all. CWs are fine, since they let me know what I'm about to see, but this isn't usually the case for media marked as sensitive and most of the time it implies NSFW which I simply don't want to see.

Posts with sensitive media leave a lot of empty space on the feed for the "show" button, which makes me often click them just out of reflex.

On Tusky, I can long press/hover the hidden media, if it has alt text, to reveal what it is. It's very useful to tell what might be behind a "sensitive content" tag, but I'm afraid this is not an option on the web client.

I'd be interested in this as well. I've only just started poking around Mastadon, but I was looking at the API response in my network tab and it seems like some posts have the attribute:

{
  "sensitive": true
}

The current filters I just added "sensitive content" as the phrase, but it'd be nice to be able to filter strictly that flag, so you dont end up filtering a post with the word "sensitive". I wonder - is the filter happening server-side? Or client-side?

Sorry, I'm new to the whole thing, trying to learn some though. Maybe I'll contribute, haha.

Oh also - I saw the "developer" tab, maybe I could write my own "app". Not sure how the apps work in general, but sounds interesting.

I would very much appreciate this feature too. I don't understand why there are already a few preferences around CW and sensitive content, but this one is lacking. I believe this feature should not only exist, but be enabled by default (at least for new users).
