Timelines in the multi-column web view on Desktop devices automatically add new posts to the top.
Sometimes, when you read a post and decide to mouse-interact with it, the timeline slides a bunch of new toots in. And the toot you were about to star moves down and you star a different one by accident. Or open media or a user profile or what ever happens to be under your cursor in the momemt of your click.
Automatic loading of new items can resume as soon as mouse cursor leaves this timeline.
This feature is obviously irrelevant for touch-only devices. Keyboard-focused timeline behaviour needs to be evaluated.
Motivation
Starring/retooting posts from (public) timelines can go horribly wrong. Yes, you can undo that, but that requires extra effort.
