Pitch

I see in some mobile apps that uploading audio gives the result an attachment with no description.

I'd like to use Mastodon as a podcasting service, uploading audios and showing the title in the description. Now I'm testing it with an account to upload my audios anyway.

Maybe you can add some other features we can see in some podcasting services.

Now that podcasts are growing I see future using Mastodon as our podcasting service too. Even RSS works well in AntennaPod and others.

Please think about it.
Thank you.

Motivation

Use Mastodon as a podcasting service too.

For podcasts in the Fediverse, you may find Castopod to be a project more suited to your needs?

I am just leaving Castopod and trying to use Mastodon for podcasts, the only problem I see is that it does not send the title in the audios by RSS and it would be nice to have more support for podcasts in Mastodon itself: much easier and more convenient.
Sorry, I'm not feeling well with Castopod right now.
I think that sooner or later Mastodon must support this, as Twitter will do now.
Thank you anyway.

Sorry @gaditano66, but I have to disagree with you. The reason Twitter is adding podcasts to its platform is that they want centralisation - they want to keep users on their platform for as long as possible (because of da money), and as they are a platform that (by design) does not interoperate with other platforms, it has to adopt its own method of incorporating podcasts.
Mastodon is not like that. First, we don't chase da money here. We don't fight for people's attention. It doesn't try nor it should do everything - that's what other Fediverse solutions are there for. And the best part, since ActivityPub can federate between them all, even if it's another service that hosts something you like, you can still follow along!

If you do not enjoy Castopod, might I suggest FunkWhale? While it is also a music host, it seems that they're doing well on the Podcast front, allowing FunkWhale to Fedi, FunkWhale to RSS and RSS to FunkWhale interoperabilities all in one platform.

I also used Funkwhale some time ago and my experience was horrible: the fediverse account it gives you is only to notify you of new content, but people reply to that account and you can't see the messages. And the instance I used was terribly slow and went very badly.
I know Mastodon is not made for podcasting, but it really works well with short audios. If you have your own instance and want to use it for that it works, in fact I'm using it now like that, maybe I'm the first, I don't know.
The only problem, only 1, is that Mastodon doesn't send the title of the audios. Even, without being for podcasts, if you upload an audio file it comes out without description. That's all I ask: that the title comes out and send it by RSS.
Of course, if you have an account that federates completely, not like Funkwhale or Castopod, that in Castopod gives many errors the federation and looks fatal avatars, nicknames, text, and sometimes even breaks the web, it has happened to me. I see Mastodon as ideal for this if they are short audios: full account federation, audios that are uploaded quickly, little work and effort, simplicity. But only for those who have their own instance, not to open accounts and use it for this.
I know there are other solutions but I'm asking for something simple: that the description of the titles work and are sent by RSS, nothing more.
Anyway thank you for the answer, I understand your point.

I see that Eugen changed RSS feeds in 3.5.3 version, so the title is now Date and time, that's the problem.

Before that change the title said the same things as the entry Content.
I don't think they will change that, as it's way better for what Mastodon really is: a Microblogging Plattform.
