Pitch

A different colour, even a different shade of grey, would be very helpful in making an immediate distinction.

Or maybe have "Media hidden" take up two lines, one for each word, so they're instantly distinguishable as a squarish rectangle versus a long thin one.

"Not available" might best be made a simple URL to the image with no useless "preview".

Motivation

I have all media hidden by default. It's very, very easy to get into a habit of opening things and opening correctly CW'd porn at the worst times.

If I'm paying close attention I can see the "Media hidden" button is a bit shorter even if I can't necessarily read the text that quickly, but often by the time I read I'll have already clicked.

This can get a lot worse when it's "Not Available" because often that means (a) it's posted by someone from an instance one's own instance admin rejects media from, possibly for good reason; and (b) whether it opens in a new tab or navigates away from your Mastodon view on the current tab, that thing that your admin thought wasn't good to have on their server is now taking up your entire view.
