Pitch

When Mastodon forward report to a remote server, although the user specified the category, it scrapes out the category information at all.

This behavior should be modified to

  • If there is a shared category (in the current case, only spam report falls in here), the report should preserve it as-is
  • Append the category to the message as string

Motivation

Most mastodon users do not know this report behavior, and when they report, if they think the category describes it well, they usually omit the report note.

It causes huge problem to the remote moderator because remote moderator only receives report like this:

Category: Other
Additional note: (empty string)

As a result, remote moderators

  • have no idea why the toot reported. (only able to guess)
  • have to contact the remote admin to get detailed information.

And it causes moderation problem.
